2009 World Outgames

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Copenhagen[1], Denmark, will host the 2nd World Outgames from July 25 to August 1. The World Outgames is a sports, cultural and human rights event primarily for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transsexuals. It will be one of the largest international sports and cultural event ever held on Danish soil, with 8,000 people from all corners of the world expected to participate.

The spirit of the event is, "Love of freedom. Freedom to love", bringing into focus the essence of it all: the freedom that makes it possible to live the love life we desire.

The World Outgames addresses itself initially - but by no means exclusively - to the homosexual community. The aim is that, once it is underway, the event will be perceived as relevant and welcoming for all inhabitants of Copenhagen
