The 2007 Al Hillah bombings happened on March 6, 2007 when two bombers wearing explosive vests blew themselves up in a large crowd of Shiite pilgrims in Al Hillah, Iraq. 120 pilgrims died and more than 190 were wounded. It was the deadliest in a number of attacks against pilgrims in 2007. Thousands of pilgrims were heading to Karbala, 100km (70 miles) south of Baghdad, to attend the Arbaeen religious ceremony.
