The 2007 Seattle Seahawks season will be the 32nd season for the team in the National Football League. They will try to improve upon their 9-7 record in 2006 and are coming off the heels of their third consecutive NFC West division title and their fourth consecutive playoff appearance.
Head coach Mike Holmgren will be entering his ninth year with the Seahawks. It is the second to last year on his existing contract.
The Seahawks hired former Atlanta Falcons head coach Jim L. Mora to be the new defensive backs coach and assistant coach to Mike Holmgren. A former player at the University of Washington, Mora is considered a hometown guy.
The new special teams coach is Bruce DeHaven. His previous position was as the special teams coach for the Dallas Cowboys. DeHaven is regarded as the best special teams coach currently in the NFL.
On August 8, 2007, the Seahawks will participate in the the first NFL-sanctioned game to take place in China against the New England Patriots at Workers Stadium in Beijing, China. Aptly-named the China Bowl, the contest will serve as the start of the one year countdown before the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
Update: SI.com has reported that the China game has been canceled. [1]
