wd~50 is a gourmet restaurant, serving New American cuisine, located at 50 Clinton Street, between Rivington and Stanton, on Manhattan's Lower East Side. It opened on April 9th, 2003. The chef is Wylie Dufresne, who is also co-owner along with partners Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Phil Suarez. The restaurant has 67 seats, with 7 seats at the bar, and a private room in the wine cellar that seats up to 14.
In their December 2006 issue, Travel + Leisure Magazine named it one of New York's Top 50 restaurants. [1]
wd~50 is open for dinner seven nights a week. (It is not open for lunch.) Diners can choose from appetizers in the $14 to $17 range, and entrées in the $24 to $30 range. There is also a 9-course tasting menu for $105. Additionally, there is a 3-course dessert tasting menu for $25, and a 5-course dessert menu for $35.
