- The 970 Gang is a vicious street gang in Northwest Colorado, centered mostly around Steamboat Springs, CO. All the members of the gang are said to be homo an or bi sexual. The 970 is known for innumerable acts of vandilism on various vehicles, they are reported to have also vandilized vehicles from other counties during the day or night without remorse, and their gang sign is the number 970 with various slashes across the letters. Made up of mostly caucasian males, the gang is also rumored to have commited crimes such as extortion and prostitution. As well, the up and coming gang is being investigated for the murder of two police officers in November of 2007. An unknown group of people founded the gang for personal profit without realizing the following they would receive. They constantly roam the streets of Steamboat, and sometimes shout obscenities out there windows. If you come into contact with any members of 970, be aware they may kill without regret, and have been known to do so. Add the Killa Al-G, the 970's rivals, into the mix and you are sure to have plenty of violence. Unofficially, the Steamboat Springs Police Department states that 60 percent of the Steamboat Springs Highschool is invovled with one of the gangs, and the use of various illegal substances that goes with it.
These gangs are usaully glorified by the rap group, Slurred Verbs, a Steamboat group also investigated for numerous accounts of assualt, public drunkeness, and murder. The members are Etch-a-Sketch, Crazy Horse, P-90, and Captain Krunk. Their seperate identities are unkown.
