Home Radio (DWQZ 97.9 MHz Metro Manila) is the flagship FM station of Aliw Broadcasting Corporation, based in Pasig City, Philippines.

Contents

Home Radio follows an easy listening program format. Soft adult contemporary music make up the majority of songs in the master playlist of this fully automated radio station. This format was introduced in 2000 by former 101.9 For Life! Program Services Chief Nestor Doria, now Home Radio FM Network Program Director. This format was an immediate success, increasing Home Radio's ratings and earning the title "#1 Easy Listening Station" in Metro Manila in a matter of six months. This format was then adapted and implemented to the provincial stations.

Being fully automated, Home Radio has no disc-jockeys, only canned spiels and liners. This includes time checks, song sponsorships and other announcements. The station, which projects a female image, launched the first fully-automated 24-hour disc jockey ''Jackie'', last October 16, 2006; which is being voiced by Lannie Chan (who also had a stint with the now-defunct K-Lite 103.5).

Despite being a non-entity FM station, Home Radio delivers live hourly news updates from newscasters Louie, Rafi and Network Newscaster Andie. All Newscasters are female. An hourly traffic report is also aired courtesy of an outside source, trapik.com, which also provides traffic reports to other top-notch Manila FM stations.

Veteran radio jock Rick Spade (Frederick Billano) is the station's Production Specialist and male voice-over of Home Radio. Ronnel Estanislao is the Music Librarian. Marius Ericsson Llobrera is the Imaging Script Writer.

  • Home Radio VHS "Variety Hits Sunday" - Every Sunday, Home Radio deviates from the regular Monday to Saturday easy listening image and ascends to a 24 Hour True Variety Hits Music Station. This program was developed by Doria and Billano in November 2005 exclusively for the Home Radio Network.

Compared to its regular Monday to Saturday programming, Variety Hits Sunday caters to a wider range of audiences and plays an even wider range of music genres, texture and time line. Music Categories include Pop Standards, Disco, New Wave, Techno, Rock and Alternative. Aside from its more upbeat music texture, Home Radio VHS projects a dynamic male image on Home Radio VHS, voiced by Rick Spade and complemented with locally produced Radio Id's backed by TM Century Jingles.

  • Home Radio Lunch Out - a daily one hour noon-time show playing upbeat 1980s music and New Wave. Its format was carried over to Home Radio VHS.
  • Home Radio Presents - a once a week, one hour feature with varrying themes and music genre.
