The ARCA RE/MAX Series is an American stock car series. It is considered a minor, but professional, league of stock car racing, perhaps two steps down from the top-level NASCAR Winston Cup and one step down from that series' minor league, the NASCAR Busch Series.

The series races on tracks as varied as small ovals and as large as Daytona International Speedway during the Daytona Speedweeks. It was one of the last oval track circuits to move completely from dirt tracks to paved ovals, running its last dirt track races in the mid-1990s. The series will return to racing on a road course in 2008.[1]

Frank Kimmel is the current champion, and has won the series nine times so far. He won the championship eight consecutive times (2000-2007) and is considered the "veteran to beat" among other racers as they often use ARCA as a stepping stone to higher levels of stock car racing.

It is unaffiliated with NASCAR, instead run by the Automobile Racing Club of America. The series has raced since 1953.[2]

The series started as a local touring group. Led by John Marcum, the Midwest Association for Race Cars was formed with drivers like Iggy Katona and Nelson Stacy being early drivers.[3]

The series became a part of the Daytona Speedweeks in 1964.[4]

Stars in the 1990s include Bobby Bowsher, Tim Steele, Billy Venturini, and Kimmel.

Fatalities in the series include Blaise Alexander[5], and rookie Eric Martin who was T-boned by Deborah Renshaw[6]/ Both fatalities occurred at Charlotte Motor Speedway (now known as Lowe's Motor Speedway).
