An old friend of Talia Winters is murdered by what appears to be an agent of a Martian resistance movement.

First Appearance of Security officer Zack Allan, who will become a regular in Season 3 onward.

"A Spider in the Web" was originally titled "A Trick of the Mind."

  • J. Michael Straczynski tentatively approved this episode, which appears to introduce a recurring antagonist organization in Bereau 13. However, he decided soon afterward that continuing this plotline would make the show too crowded, and so Bereau 13 is never referrenced again.
