Both grow up to be different entirely the only similarity being that they fall in love with the same man.

Both sisters fall in love with Ravi Saxena (Jackie Shroff). Ravi is instantly taken by Roma and eventually both agree to marry. Reema is heartbroken but puts on a brave face. Roma is also very ambitious and gets an offer to star in a film. She accepts and abandons Ravi minutes before the wedding. Ravi is furious and marries Reema instead.
