Acadiana High School

Acadiana High School is located in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana. Scott Middle School, Judice Middle School, about half of Edgar Martin Middle School, and a small part of Lafayette Middle School feed into AHS. However, none of them feed into AHS exclusively.

In December 2006, Acadiana High won the Class 5A state championship game at the Louisiana Superdome (Last-second champions: Drew Alleman's 32-yard field goal gives Acadiana 5A title). See also: Rams are state champs; check out photo galleries. Acadiana's star players were Sheffield Taylor, David "Big Nuts" Francis and Chase "Doof McAllister" Southerland.

Acadiana High was the runner-up at state for football during the 2005-2006 school year. Acadiana High has a long-standing rivalry with neighboring Lafayette High School, which also extends to other extracurricular activities, including academic and speech tournaments.


Acadiana High won its first State title against Sulphur. The game was won 13-10 by a field goal kicked with no time left on the clock.
