Adam Freier

Adam Freier (born 20 March 1982 in Goondiwindi, Australia) is an Australian rugby union footballer. He currently plays for the New South Wales Waratahs in the international Super 14 competition. His usual position is at hooker.

He made the Australian Schoolboys in 1998 as well as the under-19s, which he captatined the following year. In 2000 he signed with the ACT Brumbies and made his state debut against Queensland. He went onto play for the Australian under-21s, including captaining them at the 2001 under-21 Rugby Championships, in which they finished runner-up to New Zealand. He made his debut for the Wallabies in 2002, in a match against Argentina.

Frier left the Brumbies and signed with the Waratahs for the 2003 season, and was selected to captain the Waratah's tour of Argentina in post-season 2004, and was voted player of the tour. In 2005 he was selected for the final match of the 2005 Tri Nations Series. He was subsequently selected for the end-of-year tests in the Northern Hemisphere, only to be ruled out with a groin injury.

After he was selected as the run-on hooker in the second Cook Cup match in 2006, he left the field towards the end of the first half with a foot injury. He was ruled out of the subsequent test against Ireland in Perth, and was expected to be out for up to eight weeks.
