Adobe InCopy is a professional word processing software product made by Adobe Systems. It is tightly integrated with Adobe InDesign, and the most recent version is Adobe InCopy CS3.

InCopy is primarily used by newspapers and magazines to write, edit and style copy. The software includes standard word processing features such as spell check, track changes and word count. Its integration with InDesign also allows copyfitting and layout preview features to ensure text fits correctly in the corresponding InDesign layout.

InCopy is a direct competitor to QuarkCopyDesk, which was released in 1991.

The InCopy user interface features three viewing modes: (i) Story, (ii) Galley, and (iii) Layout. The Story mode displays the story copy text in the screen's width without the publication formatting, providing an interface for users more comfortable with the traditional word processor screen in reading and editing copy.

The Galley mode also displays the text without formatting, but does list style sheets that have been applied to the copy. The Galley mode shows copy as one column wide so the user has an idea of how the copy will appear as a published page, however, Galley mode lacks true design-layout representation – features reserved for Layout mode, which shows all text formatting and any headlines that have been attached to the story.

Unlike word processor programs, InCopy is not designed for printing on traditional desktop printers. Instead, InCopy is linked to Adobe InDesign desktop publishing application, allowing the user to design, layout, and print the copy as part of the finished publication.

With InCopy, the writers, editors, and designers can simultaneously work on the same page: while the InDesign user can design the page, one or more InCopy users can simultaneously modify different stories via the Adobe LiveEdit rights management system. Often, publishers use a publishing system that adds workflow and rights management to the design and editing capabilities of Adobe's software.

Although its title includes "CS3", the software is not included as part of Adobe's Creative Suite package. InCopy is now sold as a retail package, and may be ordered from Adobe, third party plug-in developers, or systems integrators.
