Contents

In 1700, British officer Brian Hawke infiltrates a group of pirates located on the coast of Madagascar, and falls in love with pirate captian "Spitfire" Stevens.

The film caused controversy because Maureen O'Hara did not wear a bra in the motion picture, causing uproar throughout most of the country, causing it to be pulled. The film gained a large cult following determined to see it released on DVD. It was released on laserdisc in the early 1990's but has since fallen out of print.

The film was remade in 1967 as The King's Pirate.
