Air Memphis is a privately-owned charter airline based in Cairo, Egypt. Its main base is Cairo International Airport.

The airline was established in August 1995 and started operations in March 1996.

One of its Boeing 707's being written off on 2 April 2004, after an accident taking off from runway 23L at Cairo airport. The aircraft lost directional control, ran off the right hand side of the runway, leading to the right hand landing collapsing, resulting in damage to engines 3 and 4. There were no injuries or fatalities.

On 31 May 2006, The Air Memphis DC-9 experienced some version of engine failure shortly after takeoff from Baghdad International Airport around 8:00PM. After apparently dumping fuel, the DC-9 returned to the Baghdad runway for an emergency landing. There were no injuries or fatalities.

More than 24 hours later, one of the Air Memphis Airbus jets arrived to take the approximately 100 passengers to their destination of Cairo. More than one week after the incident, the DC-9 sits inoperable on the tarmac of Baghdad International Airport.

In December 2006 the airline returned their 2 A320s to the lessor and is currently evaluating the B737 and A320 to replace the loss of capacity.
