Akira Ishida (石田 彰 Ishida Akira, born November 2, 1967) is a male seiyū born in Aichi, Japan.

He has been part of Mausu Promotion (formerly known as Ezaki Production, until its 1990 change of name) since 1988. He is known in for voicing some well-known, effeminate male anime characters (including Fish Eye of Sailor Moon, Kaworu Nagisa of Neon Genesis Evangelion and Xellos of Slayers)

  • In Japan, apart from the time while Full Metal Alchemist was showing, he has appeared in every anime in the Saturday 6 p.m. timeslot on MBS and TBS, beginning from Gundam Seed and ending with Blood+. (GS, GSD and Blood+)
  • For his portrayal of Athrun Zala in Gundam Seed Destiny, Akira won the "Best Supporting Character (male)" award at the first "Seiyu Awards". In the same category, Soichiro Hoshi was also nominated for his role as Kira Yamato in the same series.
