Akpo Sodje (born January 31, 1980) is an English professional footballer of Nigerian heritage.
Sodje has four brothers who also play football: three of them professionally and one semi-professionally. Sam Sodje currently plays for Reading after a summer signing from Brentford. Efe Sodje currently plays for Southend United and has represented Nigeria at international level, being in the squad for both the African Cup of Nations in 2000 and World Cup 2002. Steve Sodje currently plays for Hampton & Richmond.
Another brother, Bright plays rugby league for Sheffield Eagles. His cousin Onome Sodje left Charlton Athletic in summer 2006, and is now playing for Nationwide Conference team Gravesend & Northfleet.
He currently plays for Port Vale after joining in the summer of 2006 from Darlington, after previously having an unsuccessful spell at Huddersfield Town.
He became the first Valiant to score four goals in a match since 1893 as Vale sauntered to a 5-1 victory at Millmoor against Rotherham United. His hat-trick came in just 18 minutes to break a barren spell of 8 games without scoring.
