The Al Faisaliyah Center (Arabic: برج الفيصلية) was the first skyscraper constructed in Saudi Arabia[citation needed], and the second tallest building in the country after the Kingdom Centre[citation needed]. The golden ball that lies atop the tower is said to be inspired by a ballpoint pen. Inside the ball is a restaurant; immediately below it an outside viewing deck; at ground level, there is a shopping center with major world brands.
The tower was designed by UK based architects Foster and Partners and engineers Buro Happold.
The tower is part of a larger complex, the Al Faisalyah Complex, which consists of a hotel, the tower, and two other buildings.
There is a restaurant in the glass ball, which is considered as one of the most expensive restaurants in Riyadh. The tower itself is mainly offices, whereas the ground floor consists of a shopping centre.
