Al Hizam al Akhdar is one of the 32 municipalities of Libya. It has a population of 85,898 and its capital city is Al Abyar.
In the north and west, Al Hizam Al Akhdar has a shoreline on the Mediterranean Sea. On land, it borders the following municipalities:
