Albert Harold Quie (born September 18, 1923) is an American politician who served as governor of Minnesota from 1979 to 1983.

Quie was born on his family's farm near Dennison, Minnesota. Quie served in the United States Navy during World War II. He graduated from St. Olaf College in 1950 with a degree in political science.

He served in the Minnesota State Senate from 1954 to 1958. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives from February 18, 1958 to January 3, 1979, serving in the 85th, 86th, 87th, 88th, 89th, 90th, 91st, 92nd, 93rd, 94th, and 95th congresses. He was the 35th governor of Minnesota serving from January 4, 1979 to January 3, 1983, and is a member of the Republican Party.

He was briefly considered as a candidate to become Vice President of the United States in 1974 under Gerald Ford, in a role eventually taken by Nelson Rockefeller. [1]
