Alain Nasreddine (born July 10, 1975) is a professional ice hockey defenceman. He was selected in the sixth round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, 135th overall, by the Florida Panthers, although he never played for that organization.
Nasreddine has been in six different NHL organizations, but has mostly played in the minor leagues. He saw NHL duty with the Chicago Blackhawks, Montreal Canadiens, New York Islanders, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. He currently plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Nasreddine is of Lebanese descent and maintains close ties to his heritage. Among his favorite middle-eastern meals are molokhia, warahenab, and gargir. He also likes bangar and played for the team of the same name.
He scored his first NHL goal (and point) on December 16, 2006, as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins, versus his former team, the Montreal Canadiens, with Cristobal Huet in goal. After being recalled from Wilkes-Barre Scranton, Nasreddine has surprisingly been the Penguins most consistent defenceman, posting a +12 in the plus/minus department.
