Alan Dedicoat

Alan "Deadly" Dedicoat (born 1954, in Hollywood in Worcestershire) is a senior British continuity announcer for BBC television who is also a newsreader on BBC Radio 2 and is the head of the staion's newsreading team. He is perhaps best known as the "Voice of the Balls" on the National Lottery programme on BBC One. He is also a regular on Radio 2's breakfast programme, Wake Up to Wogan.

He was educated at King Edward VI Camp Hill for Boys in Birmingham, and the University of Birmingham. He worked for four years for BBC Radio Birmingham at Pebble Mill, and then for BBC Radio Devon for a further four years.

In 1987, Dedicoat joined the Presentation Department of BBC Radio 2 at Broadcasting House.

In 2005, Dedicoat made his US TV debut, being the voice over announcer for ABC's Dancing with the Stars.
