Alandur is a city and a municipality in Kancheepuram district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is a southern suburb of Chennai, a city situated on the east coast of the southern India. It is a thickly populated suburb flanking the railway line, close to the St. Thomas Mount Railway Station, Chennai. Alandur also neighbours the St. Thomas mount cantontment and the very prestigious Officers training academy of the Indian army. Alandur has a mixed population with a notable number of Anglo-Indians.

Aladur market is one the famous market in south chennai its about 200 years old, its located in mid of MKN road (MKN Road starts from guindy and ends at meenabakkam airport GST road).
