Alexandra Hills State High School is by far the largest high school in the Redlands. It is located on Windemere Road and is adjacent to the TAFE. The school traditionally has a well-respected reputation in the area and is a high-quality education provider, although it is widely accepted that in more recent times, the school's reputation has diminished. Many attribute this to relaxed standards of uniform and behaviour. However, the school is renowned for its high standard of state education and amazing amount of school spirit. The school holds many major sporting events including "The Dash" (fun run) and the swimming carnival.

The School motto "Success is the key to learning", thought by many to be a typo, has been the subject of amusement by many staff, students and parents.

As well as it's high academically achieving students and elite athletes, the school has had many successful students that have gone on to be recognized internationally for their performing arts talents. Two past students, John Patterson and Alana Skyring are members in the popular alternative three-piece band The Grates.

The school is also the home of 136 Army Cadet Unit - Shire of Redlands

Brad Gustafson, a presenter on Nine_Network's EXTRA, is another local celebrity to have emerged from the school.
