Alexandros Thrasivoulou Zaimis (Greek: Αλέξανδρος Θρασύβουλου Ζαΐμης) (9 November 185515 September 1936) was a Greek politician. The son of Thrasivoulos Zaimis, a former Prime Minister of Greece, he entered politics at a young age, becoming a Member of Parliament in 1885, and a Prime Minister for the first time in 1897. In 1906, he was appointed Armostis (Viceroy or Governor-General or High Commissioner) of Crete representing Prince George of Greece. In 1917, he again served as Prime Minister of Greece under King George, while Eleftherios Venizelos led a rival government controlling northern Greece. Under Entente pressure, he resigned in favor of Venizelos in June of the same year. A moderate conservative, he served again as Prime Minister from 1926 to 1928 in a coalition government of Venizelist and moderate conservatives. He also served as the country's President from 1929 until the return to monarchy in 1935. He died in 1936 in Vienna, Austria
