Ali Reza Pahlavi (born April 28, 1966) is the younger son of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and his third wife, the former Farah Diba. Born in Tehran as Prince Ali Reza Pahlavi, as per official dynastic usage, with the style His Imperial Highness, he would be second in the line of succession to the Iranian throne, after his elder brother, Reza Pahlavi. All titles and styles of the imperial family were abolished by the revolutionary Iranian government after the overthrow of the Shah, though Ali Reza and his siblings are known as Prince and Princess out of courtesy, primarily by their supporters. He lives in the U.S. where he received a bachelors degree from Princeton University, and currently studies at Harvard University as a PhD student in ancient Iranian studies and philology. He became engaged to artist Sara Tabatabai in 2001. Ali Reza Pahlavi's hobbies are sky diving, scuba diving, reading, and flying, and sailing.
