As "ridin'" is a very close homophone to "writin'", it is possible that Dylan is complaining of fatigue of one kind or another — perhaps simple tiredness, perhaps a psychological fatigue stemming from his wild ride of stardom and its attending distractons of the past years, or perhaps a fatigue of the spirit — as interfering with his songwriting.
