Alun Ffred Jones

Alun Ffred Jones (born 1949) is a Welsh politician and member of Plaid Cymru. Jones is currently a Welsh Assembly Member for Caernarfon and was first elected in 2003. Jones will stand for election in the newly created Arfon constituency in National Assembly for Wales election, 2007.

Jones was born in Brynaman and educated in the University of Wales, Bangor. Before his election, he was a Television director and producer for Ffilmiau`r Nant and, before that, he was a Welsh teacher and Head of Department and a journalist with HTV.

Jones is the former Leader of Gwynedd County Council, is Chair of Antur Nantlle and chair of Nantlle Vale Football Club.

Jones main political interests are in broadcasting, community development and the economy. Jones speaks Welsh, English and French. Whilst relaxing, Alun enjoys theatre, sports and gardening
