Always Ready

Always Ready (隨時候命) is a sitcom/drama by Hong Kong television station Television Broadcasts Limited. The story centred around Government Flying Service (Hong Kong), which is responsible for search and rescue (SAR), air ambulance, firefighting and assist in police operations.

Ekin Cheng plays the role of a aircrewman officer named Matthew Ko. Matthew has a friend who is a pilot at the Government Flying Service(GFS) named Benjamen Yip (Played by Bowie Lam). Matthew has a girlfriend who has been in a coma for three years and her name is Carrie Hong (Played by Charmaine Sheh). They both come back together after Carrie Hong receives a coma, but Carrie decides to break up because that Carrie needs a perfect boyfriend and they break up. After Matthew's Student, who is Sandra, falls in love with him. But after a while Sandra's father, who left Sandra alone in a park when she was very young, returns and lives with Mathew Ko, whose house is right beside Sandra's house. She doesn't know this until one day Matthew Ko, takes her to the beach and tells her that her father lives beside her. He leaves thinking that this is a good idea. But when Sandra is left alone with her father, she starts questioning him about where he was.

But in the meantime Ben Sir in his work on his airplane with student who is Kelvin, when flying back to GFS their helicopter is hit when flying over a illegal gas station, an explosion occurs and a oil tank hits the helicopter's rotor blades and the helicopter takes a fast descend into a lake. An overnight rescue occurs in the search for Ben. All the other crew men are saved and are okay. The overnight search fails to find Ben. When the Chief Officer says to call it a night, all the remaining crewmen decline, but because of the strong mist, he fears that another aircraft could be lost, so he calls that at 3:30 am the next day that the search continues. When the crew find Ben in the morning, Ben is rushed to hospital, where Carrie works. He is rushed to the hospital. Jacky, Ben's son comes with Nikki, who is a handicap. Nicky is a handicap to show that anyone can work for the GFS. When Jacky arrives, he sees his father unconscious. When the Carrie uses the defibrillator on Ben, his son Jacky sees it and his heart becomes unstable and is afraid of airplanes.

Ben retires so his son is comforted. In the last episode his old colleagues are called up for a big mission. He looks up and his son ask if he wants to be happy. He replies that he is not afraid and lets him take on the mission. His airplane nearly crashes but is successful. And he saves the day.
