Alyn McCauley (born May 29, 1977 in Brockville, Ontario) is a professional ice hockey player. He is a center for the Los Angeles Kings.

McCauley was acquired by San Jose with Brad Boyes and a 1st round selection in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft from the Toronto Maple Leafs for Owen Nolan on March 5, 2003. Originally a New Jersey draft pick (79th overall), rights to McCauley were traded along with Jason Smith and Steve Sullivan to Toronto for Doug Gilmour, Dave Ellett and a 3rd round draft pick. In Toronto, McCauley received little playing time, as head coach Pat Quinn preferred to play veterans over youngsters.

McCauley had a career year in 2003-2004 season. McCauley is known for his two-way play and his penalty-killing abilities, which earned him a Selke Trophy nomination in 2003-2004.

While the NHL was locked out in 2004-2005, he studied at Athabasca University. He has stressed the importance of education, and he wishes to get a degree himself so he can have a job after his NHL career.

McCauley left San Jose as an unrestricted free agent signing with the Los Angeles Kings on July 2, 2006.
