Amanda Redman (born 12 August 1959 in Brighton) is a British actress. She is the niece of the actress Joyce Redman and trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She is most famous as Alison Braithwaite in the television series At Home With The Braithwaites.

She took over from Alfred Molina in the 1990's comedy drama El C.I.D., playing a new female lead in the series, and played Diana Dors in the 1999 TV movie The Blonde Bombshell. In 2000 she played Deedee Dove in the acclaimed comedy/action/thriller Sexy Beast, and most recently, she has starred in the TV series New Tricks. In 2004 Amanda appeared in the BBC documentary Who Do You Think You Are?

Redman, who was born in Brighton, is president of the Brighton Little Theatre. She is also involved in drama education at the Artist's Theatre School.

She recently performed in Children's Party At The Palace as Cruella DeVil for Queen Elizabeth II's 80th birthday.

She has a daughter Emily (born 1987), also an actress, from her first and only marriage to the actor Robert Glenister from whom she is now divorced. She is also a supporter of Brighton & Hove Albion F.C..
