Amazing race michigan

The Amazing Race Michingan is a local spin of of the Amazing Race. the first season had 5 teams race around southern Michingan. there was no penalty for coming in last on a non-elimanation leg. there were only two raodblocks and detours. one team member could only complete 1 roadblock. Season 2 had a couple teams/team members return. these people were Dan and Rarcila, and Mike (of Mike and Sue).

Leg 1

  • Detroit (Lyon Park) @ (starting line)
  • Detroit (Park City)(Hoop or Scoop)
  • Detoirt (Westland Mall Parking Lot) @
  • Detroit (Westland Mall) pit stop leg 1

@ Teams must search through 300 poker ships for one of 6 poker chips that has a number on it. the number determines their departure time.

@ Teams must search the parking lot for a marked car

The detour was a choice between "hoop" and "scoop". in Hoop, teams had to shoot a basket ball, and score 3 baskets in a row, from the freethrow line. In Scoop teams had to consume 3 frozen juice boxes.

@ Teams had to count the number of glass beads in a bag. once the had the correct number, they received their clue.

Leg 3

  • Bellvile (Bellvile Elementary School Playground)
  • Annarbor (County Farm Park) @
  • Annarbor (Centenial Park)Who has the fastest feet and sharpest eye? pit stop leg 3

@ teams received pictures of signs in the park. these pictures had words missing. teams had to find the signs and fill in the missing words

in the roadblock one team member searched the forest for a tree covered in ribbons. that team member then took a ribbon and brought it to the pitstop.

Leg 4

  • Annarbor (Gallop Park) @
  • Kensington State Park (Island) @ pit stop leg 4

@ Teams had to put together a puzzle. the clue was written on the puzzle.

@ Teams had to paddle a boat to the island.

Leg 5

  • Southfeild (Laurence Technological University) (Traps or Laps)
  • Dearborn (Greenfeild Village School) @ pit stop leg 5

@ Teams had to fill a cup with sand until it weighed exactly 12 ounces.

The detour was Traps or Laps.In Traps, teams had to assemble an mousetrap car with no instructions. The car then had to travel 10 feet, for them to receive their next clue. in Laps teams had to jog one lap around the parking lot.

Leg 6

  • Canton (Vetrans Memorial) Locate Names
  • Detroit (Garden City High School) pit stop leg 6 (Finish Line)

in the roadblock, one team member had to locate 3 names on the memorial.
