Amborellales is a botanical name at the rank of order. This order not accepted in the single resource APG II system, of 2003 (changed from the APG system, of 1998). However, it is currently accepted by plant systematists using APGII classification systems. Some other systems of plant taxonomy use different placements for the single family, Amborellaceae.

It is a monotypic order, containing the single family Amborellaceae and the single species Amborella trichopoda of New Caledonia, a dioecious shrub or small tree, with small unisexual flowers clustered in terminal cymose infloresences.

The Cronquist system, of 1981, placed the family in the order Laurales in subclass Magnoliidae, in class Magnoliopsida [=dicotyledons] of division Magnoliophyta [=angiosperms].

The Dahlgren system placed it in superorder Magnoliiflorae, in subclass Magnoliideae [=dicotyledons], in class Magnoliopsida [=angiosperms].
