The CETME Ameli is a Spanish squad automatic weapon manufactured by CETME. Although is aesthetically similar to a scaled down MG3, its mechanisms are entirely different. Internally, it is more akin to the Heckler & Koch HK-21/23, making use of a roller-delayed blowback mechanism, but differs from HK weapons in firing from an open bolt. It is very small and light for a belt-fed light machine-gun, c. 2kg less than a FN Minimi. The Ameli is the biggest rival to the Minimi.[citation needed]
