The Greatest Screen Legends were actors and actresses selected by the American Film Institute for their popularity, craftmanship in their career, star quality, legacy and their role in society. The Top 50 Greatest Screen Legends was composed of 25 men and 25 women selected from a list of 250 men and 250 women nominees.
