The American Lacrosse Conference, also known as the ALC, is a NCAA Division I women's lacrosse-only college athletic conference whose members are located in the Midwest, East Coast, and increasingly the Southeastern states from Illinois to Maryland.
In 2010, two more Southeastern Conference schools will join the ALC: South Carolina[1] and Florida.[2] Former Members of the ALC include Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina and Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Davidson is currently an independent women's lacrosse institution with no conference affiliation. Ohio University exited the ALC when the OU Athletics Department decided to drop several sports programs including women's lacrosse in January of 2007.[3]
