Ami Foster

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ami Foster (born August 5, 1975) was a successful child star in the early-1980s who is perhaps best remembered for playing Margeaux Kramer on the American television program Punky Brewster.

Margeaux Kramer was the high class and spoiled friend of the rather lower class Punky. Her character was a slight satire on the behavior of high-class children of successful parents and was built in the same fashion as the character of "Master" Eric Bates in The Toy.

At the age of 5 she won the National Tap Dance Championship after which she was discoved on Star Search as a singer. She would go on to have a steady line of acting jobs for the next several years.

From the years of 1983 to 1994 Foster racked up just under twenty film, voice over and TV credits which included roles in Troop Beverly Hills, Webster, The Wonder Years, Quantum Leap and Life Goes On. She also voiced Sally Brown in the 1988 animated "PEANUTS" special Snoopy!!! The Musical and Lucy in an episode of "This Is America, Charlie Brown".

Furthermore, during the run of Punky Brewster, Ami appeared on Circus of the Stars; she shared an act with actor-musician Corey Yothers, whose sister Tina (of Family Ties fame) was also featured that year in COTS.

Ami has one elder brother, Shawn, a motion-picture director whose output consists largely of straight-to-video productions.
