Thoeng (Thai: เทิง) is a district (Amphoe) in the eastern part of Chiang Rai Province, northern Thailand.

Neighboring districts are (from the southwest clockwise) Pa Daet, Mueang Chiang Rai, Wiang Chai, Phaya Mengrai, Khun Tan, Wiang Kaen of Chiang Rai Province. To the east is Oudomxai provinces of Laos.

The district is subdivided into 10 subdistircts (tambon), which are further subdivided into 175 villages (muban). There are two townships (thesaban tambon) - Wiang Thoeng covers parts of tambon Wiang, and Ban Plong parts of tambon Plong. There are further 10 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).
