Located in the heart of Ang Mo Kio, Anderson Junior College has come a long way since her establishment in 1984. The college is just a 3-minute stroll from Yio Chu Kang MRT station and is well-served by a network of buses. Today, AJC has positioned herself as the leading neighbourhood college. She has consistently been ranked sixth among the other junior colleges in Singapore, based on the academic performance in the Singapore-Cambridge A-Level Examination.

Its student enrollment is drawn from among the top 10-15% of secondary schools, comprising of students from diverse social and financial backgrounds. Given the location of the college, a large proportion of students come from neighbourhood schools in the central region, such as Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Yishun and Hougang.

The college crest is formed from the initials of the College. The letter A, in the form of a yellow flame, symbolises the vitality and youthful aspirations of the students. The dark blue letters, J and C, supporting the flame, symbolise college support for the individual in his efforts to realise his ambition. The four circles at the base depict racial harmony, highlighting the college motto.

The college motto, Non Mihi Solum, is a Latin expression meaning 'not for myself alone'. It was chosen because the college believes that Singapore will develop into a nation of excellence if each person regards it as his duty to reach his full potential, not only for himself, but for others as well. The college believes that, if every individual considers others in his actions, he will become not only self-disciplined and responsible but also respectful and caring.

We tread the path of knowledge
Bearing yellow flame of light
With minds keen and spirits burning
Ascending to greater heights

Chorus:

Non mihi solum
The sweet light of charity
Non mihi solum
The richness of humanity

We'll stand with loving hearts
Knowing joy of give and care
With grateful thoughts to all who give
Returning all and more we'll share

Chorus

United we stand bold
Drinking wisdom ages bestowed
All worthy tasks we execute with grace
We cherish the best in human race

Chorus
