Andrew Mackie (born August 7, 1984), is a professional Australian rules football player who plays in the Australian Football League. His father Mark was best known as a field umpire in the 1990 and 1992 SANFL Grand Finals. He is the youngest of 3 brothers. Andrew was a keen Adelaide Crows fan throughout the 1990s and was a very talented football and cricket player during his childhood years despite his rather shy personality. In his early teen years, he continued to impress as a promising football player.

Mackie was recruited from the Glenelg Football Club Under-19 side by the Geelong Football Club with the 7th pick in the 2002 National AFL Draft. After spending 2003 in the Geelong Reserves further developing his game, He made his AFL debut in 2004 but was inconsistent throughout his first two seasons and was often dropped into the reserves. Despite suffering a few injuries, Mackie started making a statement midway through 2006 and picked up 20+ possessions in 5 straight games. He is a highly underrated player, he is over 6 foot 3 in height and despite his light frame he can kick some big goals and lay some solid tackles and often is quick with the ball. He has a promising career ahead of him for the Cats if he doesn't suffer too many injuries.

In 2005, a late night incident involving Mackie, his club teammate Steve Johnson and the police was reported by the media. Out celebrating Mackie's 21st birthday, Mackie and Johnson were involved in a heated discussion with local police whilst waiting for a taxi in the wee hours of the morning. Police charged both Mackie and Johnson with being drunk and disorderly, and sent both back to the Geelong police station. Mackie would be released on bail after the charges were laid, while Johnson would be detained for a further four hours.^{[citation needed]}
