Andrew "Andy" Keogh (born 16 May 1986 in Dublin, Ireland) is an association football player. He plays for the Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C.

A Republic of Ireland U21 International, Keogh is traditionally a striker, but has been know to play various other roles including an attacking midfielder playing behind the strikers, and also, under Brian Laws at Scunthorpe United F.C., out wide on the left wing, with varying success.

Andy began his playing career at Cabinteely FC and St Josephs' Boys AFC in South Dublin before moving to Leeds United at the age of sixteen. Unfortunately, Andy never managed to make his mark at Leeds, so was subsequently loaned out to League One side Scunthorpe United at the beginning of the 2004-05 season. He spent one month on loan at Glanford Park, scoring 2 goals in 4 starts for the Iron. However, Andy was recalled to Leeds due to an injury crisis at Elland Road. He spent the rest of 2004 playing reserve games for Leeds, until he was loaned by Bury in January 2005 as a replacement for Preston-bound David Nugent. During this loan spell he arguably playing his best football of the 2004-05 season, and ironically made his Bury debut against his former loan club Scunthorpe United, in which he scored.

In February 2005, while on loan at Bury, Scunthorpe United F.C. manager Brian Laws, who has earlier seen his offer for Bury striker David Nugent rejected, made an offer to Leeds United (said to be around £50,000) to bring him to the club on a permanent basis. Leeds accepted the offer, and on the 14 February, re-joined the club he had started the season with. Keogh spent the rest of that season settling in at Glanford Park, scoring only one goal, but was part of the team which won Scunthorpe United promotion to Coca-Cola League One as runners-up of League Two behind Yeovil Town.

It wasn't until the 2005-06 season in which Andy made his mark, notably after Scunthorpe United signed fellow 19-year-old striker Billy Sharp for £100,000 from Sheffield United. Keogh became part of the most potent strike-force in League One, scoring 38 goals between them, with Andy netting 15 of them. Keogh netted twice as Scunthorpe United saw off league-leaders Huddersfield Town at the Galpharm Stadium. He also scored Scunthorpe's goal in the FA Cup 3rd Round visit to Manchester City, beating England International goalkeeper David James in the process.

Keogh was also instrumental in the win over Nottingham Forest on 8 October, scoring as Scunthorpe won 4-0.

On 12 January 2007, it was announced that Andy had rejected an improved contract offer from Scunthorpe United, and would therefore be free to leave the club at the end of the 2006-07 season. As he is under the age of 24, Scunthorpe were able to command a fee from him, either as a direct offer or via a tribunal.

Having had a bid of £500,000 turned down, Keogh signed for Wolves on 23 January 2007. He signed 3 and a half year contract with the transfer set to cost Wolves an initial £600,000 possibly rising to £850,000 with add-ons.^[1]

On March 18, his good form was rewarded with his first call up to the Republic of Ireland international squad by Steve Staunton, after Caleb Folan was forced to withdraw through injury.
