Freelance Animators New Zealand

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Freelance Animators, New Zealand is an animation studio located in New Zealand, like the name implies. During the 1990s, they provided animation/ink & paint for Warner Bros. animated series, though occasionally they animated for Disney as well. They have worked on the following shows:

Freelance was never a big or well-known studio, however. They only animated three episodes of Tiny Toon Adventures (those being Rainy Daze, Brave Tales of Real Rabbits, and Toons Take Over), and for the rest of the series they worked on, they were only used sparingly (in the case of Animaniacs, they always did the Dot's Poetry Corner skits) and weren't the "go-to" studio.

For the two Season 1 episodes of Tiny Toons that they animated, the studio was known as Freelance Graphics, Ltd. Toons Take Over ushered in the name change to Freelance Animators, New Zealand. Frequently, the animation directors for the studio were John Ewing and Barry Pearce.
