Anne-Marie Johnson (born July 18, 1960 in Los Angeles, California) is a multi-ethnic African American actress who has starred in film and on television. Her first role was as Aileen Lewisin on the 1984 NBC comedy series Double Trouble. After the 1985 syndicated series What's Happening Now!! (as Nadine Hudson Thomas), she became well-known for portraying Althea Tibbs on the NBC and CBS television series In the Heat of the Night from 1988-1993.
