Antoine Rufenacht

Antoine Rufenacht (born on May 11, 1939 in Le Havre) is a French right-wing politician and mayor of Le Havre.

He is the UMP mayor of Le Havre and president of the local city community (called Communauté d'Agglomération Havraise - CODAH), he took the mayoral seat from Daniel Colliard (PCF) in 1995. He was reelected in 2001 with a comfortable majority.

He is a former student of ENA, he was a Secrétaire d'État under the of gouvernement Barre, President of the regional council of Haute-Normandie and deputy.

He led the presidential campaign of Jacques Chirac en 2002.

With Jacques Barrot, he is one of the many possible successors of Dominique de Villepin as Prime Minister of France.
