Art School Confidential. is a 2006 film directed by Terry Zwigoff, loosely based on the comic by Daniel Clowes. The film is Zwigoff's second collaboration with Clowes, the first being 2001's Ghost World (which was also released by United Artists). The cast includes Max Minghella, Sophia Myles, John Malkovich, Jim Broadbent, and Anjelica Huston.

The movie has since received mixed reviews, with 54 out of 100 possible points on the meta-review site Metacritic.

The story concerns Jerome Platz (Minghella), an impressionable young man and unusual artist, who's just been accepted to the Strathmore Institute, a prestigious art college in New York City. It's when he meets the girl of his dreams (Sophia Myles) that he's desperate to impress her with his talent. But in the cutthroat world of art, Jerome has much more on his plate to worry about including favoritism, hypocritical instructors with fading dreams, backstabbing and desperation. But it only gets worse when a serial killer is terrorizing the campus, known only as the Strathmore Strangler. Could Jerome have possibly found himself an angle for success, both in love and in career?

"What do you think an artist thinks about? Do you think he thinks about fine wines or black tie affairs or what you're going to say at the next after-dinner speech? No, he lives only for that narcotic moment of creative bliss. A moment that may come once a decade, or never at all."
