Eoin Colfer has confirmed that there will be a sixth Artemis Fowl book; it is also to be the last one in the series. The release date is currently unknown.

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

The plot of the book is also unknown. However, there are some plot lines that are continuing into Book VI that need to be resolved:

  • If Holly Short will stay on at Section Eight after the events of Book V.
  • If Artemis Fowl and Minerva Paradizo will have a relationship. Artemis was physically attracted to Minerva in Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony, and during his absence in Hybras Minerva continues to think about him.
  • What happens to Foaly's relationship with Caballine.
  • Who Ark Sool's successor was for the LEP Reconnaissance Commander and the LEP Commander position
  • Artemis' newfound magic (acquired during the last parts of The Lost Colony, though he pretended to have lost his magic.)
  • Eoin Colfer has stated that Trouble Kelp will play a much larger role in book 6, in a romantic sense to Holly Short.[citation needed]
  • Eoin Colfer has also stated that the two siblings of Artemis Fowl are both boys. The names he is currently leaning towards are Jonathon and Finian.[citation needed]
  • Eoin Colfer has stated that the action will take place in Finland, and will involve a creature that has slept for millenia, more time travel, and irritating younger twin brothers.[citation needed]
  • Whether Juliet Butler will regain/has regained her memories of the fairy people, for she has not appeared in IV or V.
  • Whether or not Butler was fired by the Fowls or whether he retired like he said he would at the end of the 5th book, just before Artemis, Holly, Qwan, and N°1 went to Hybras.
