Arundel Mills is a mega-mall located in Hanover, Maryland (south of Baltimore, near BWI Airport) and owned by Mills Corporation. The mall is located at the intersection of Maryland Route 100 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (Maryland Route 295) in northwestern Anne Arundel County (hence the name "Arundel" Mills). Arundel Mills opened in November 2000. In addition to 15 large anchor stores, Arundel Mills also features an Egyptian-themed 24-screen Muvico megaplex theater, a Dave & Buster's, and a Medieval Times dinner theater. It is the first enclosed mall to feature a Medieval Times, and its Muvico, the only outlet of the theater chain in the state of Maryland (and Muvico's first location outside of Florida), brings in more revenue than any other theater in the country on many weekends. Muvico Egyptian 24 is one of only two movie theaters in Maryland that utilizes the Real D Cinema technology for showing stereoscopic 3-D digital-format movies. The mall has 1.3 million sq. ft. of retail space; is shaped like an elongated ring; and contains five themed "neighborhoods," each sponsored by a company such as Toyota, The Baltimore Sun, Comcast, Discover Card, and Coca-Cola.

Contents

With over 200 stores and an estimated 1,000 daily employees, Arundel Mills is considered one of the largest malls in the United States[citation needed].

In addition to the dozens of stores and restaurants in the mall itself, "big-box" retailers (such as Wal-Mart, Costco, Safeway, and Circuit City), chain restaurants (such as Damon's Grill, Chipotle, Chick-Fil-A, McDonald's, Wendy's, Golden Corral, T.G.I. Friday's, Starbucks, and many more), and smaller shopping centers have popped up along the mall's periphery off of Arundel Mills Boulevard (Route 713) in Hanover. Two hotels, Residence Inn Arundel Mills BWI Airport and Hampton Inn and Suites Arundel Mills, are also located on the road circling the mall because of the close proximity to the airport.
