2009 Ashes series

The 2009 Ashes Series will occur in England and Wales. It will consist of five test matches played at The Oval and Lord's in London, Headingley in Leeds, Edgbaston in Birmingham and Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, which will be hosting its first ever test match. Old Trafford and Durham's Riverside stadium won't be host any of the five test matches.

It follows on in the long standing cricketing rivalry between England and Australia. Australia are the current holders of The Ashes, which they regained in the 2006-07 Ashes series in Australia.
