82ASK

82ASK is an SMS service operated by Re5ult that provides answers to any question texted through to it in the shortest time possible. The company claims to be able to answer most questions within five minutes and the service is available on all UK phones, anywhere in the world. The service is similar to Issuebits' Any Question Answered.

Users text in questions by sending them to 82275 (82ASK on the traditional phone keypad). 82ASK charge customers £1 per answer rather than per question asked. Subscription packages for all-you-can-ask deals are also available.

82ASK have a team of 220 'texperts' on call. Many are graduates from the UK’s top universities and work shifts answering general questions that people text in. However there are also texperts on 24-hour call to answer questions in more specialised fields such as maths and science.

On November 9th 2006 82ASK published Do sheep shrink in the rain? (Virgin Books), a collection of "the 500 most outrageous questions ever asked and their answers"
