Although not as large or exalted as the Brisbane GPS Competition, the AIC does undertake a number of avant-garde activities. The competition has a few heated rivalries in Rugby Union, Cricket, Basketball and most AIC sports. During the swimming, cross country and athletics competition, war crys and slogans will be developed. Many times, these war crys are concerning Ashgrove. It is a tradition that most of the AIC schools dislike Ashgrove because of there recent dominance over the other AIC schools (schools such as Villanova, Iona College, St. Edmund's and St. Laurence's).
