Atlantic Film Festival

Located in coastal Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, The Atlantic Film Festival (AFF) (September 14-23, 2006) is a ten-day celebration of film and video from the Atlantic Provinces, Canada and around the world. Known for its warm and festive atmosphere, the Festival is committed to screening an inspiring and engaging collection of films and videos from Canada and the world. The AFF is now considered one of the top four film festivals in Canada.[1]
As the regional film and television industry continues to flourish, the Atlantic Film Festival plays a strategic role as the leading forum for film and video in Atlantic Canada. Internationally, the Festival continues to develop its status as a gateway to the North American market. The Inspired Series is a presentation of panels, discussions, master class, keynote addresses, luncheons and one-on-one meeting opportunities.

The 2005 festival experienced a 24 per cent attendance increase from the previous year with 29,400 in overall attendance, including 28 sold-out screenings and events. [1]
223 films were screened during the 10 day event, a festival record. The Journals of Knud Rasmussen, directed by Zacharias Kunuk and Norman Cohn was the opening film. Susanne Bier's film After the Wedding was the closing film for the festival.
